Billy is a pixelated font by Reghardt that captures the retro vibe of old school video games. The game is built on pixel art aesthetics, where everything has a boxy and chunky look. This font style has a classic look and feel to it and comes in three different styles: regular, bold, and light, which allows the designers to make the designs more freely.
Light: The lightest weight of Billy is the most pixelated, while it gives a feeling of softness and tenderness. Suitable for the fine print, headers with an edge of nostalgia or even for the playful accents in your designs.
Regular: This is the standard weight of Billy, it is a font that captures that balance between the bold styles and the readable ones. Ideal for body text, logos, or any other design that needs to be bold and have that old-school feel.
Bold: The boldest weight of Billy is rather powerful and provocative, it catches the eye. It is ideal for the big headlines, title texts, or when you want to create a certain emphasis.
The fact that Billy’s pixelated design is accompanied by weight variations and supports a wide range of purposes, including gaming, app interfaces, branding and apparel.
Where Billy Font works best
Thumbnails and covers
Billy Font is built to be recognised small. Three words, high contrast, and it survives being scaled to a phone screen.
Event and match posters
Display letters at full width make a date and a name readable across a room, which is all a poster has to do.
Merch and streetwear
Heavy display shapes print cleanly on fabric and stay legible when the garment moves.
