Software that handles Arabic properly

Use an application with real right-to-left support: current versions of InDesign, Illustrator, Figma and the major browsers all handle it, while many simpler editors show the letters disconnected or in the wrong order. Allow more line spacing than you would for Latin text, since the marks above and below the baseline need room.

Arabic Font: common questions

Why does my Arabic text look disconnected?
The application is not applying letter shaping. Try the text in software with right-to-left support before assuming the font is at fault.
Can one font cover Arabic and Latin together?
Some do. Where a font covers both, check that the Latin letters are well drawn and not a rough addition.
How much line spacing does Arabic need?
Around 150 to 180 percent of the type size, more than Latin text of the same size.
