NEW! Includes a set of 42 connecting word character glyphs along with 23 alternate lowercase glyphs. MARLIN is a condensed vintage style serif display font that works great for logos, packaging, branding, menus, advertising, and posters. The lowercase letter set has different letterforms allowing you to mix and match upper and lowercase for a variety of looks. In Illustrator, the custom connecting word set can easily be accessed in the “Type → Glyphs” panel and in Photoshop through “Type → Panels → Glyphs Panel”.
Where Marlin Font Family works best
Long reads that need authority
Reports, white papers and book interiors hold the eye longer when the text face has real serifs; Marlin Font Family keeps that rhythm without looking old-fashioned.
Packaging with a heritage story
Food, spirits and cosmetics brands lean on serif wordmarks to suggest age and care. Marlin Font Family gives that signal at wordmark size.
Certificates and formal documents
Set Marlin Font Family for the body of an award or a diploma and keep the recipient name in a script; the pairing is what makes a document feel official.
Is Marlin Font Family really free?
The download costs nothing and needs no account. What you may do with the font afterwards is set by its author: the license file travels inside the archive, and it is the only document that decides whether a commercial project is covered.
How do I install it on Windows or a Mac?
Three steps, no extra software:
- Download the ZIP and extract it (double-click on Mac, right-click → Extract on Windows).
- Open the .ttf or .otf file and click Install / Install Font.
- Restart the app you want to use it in — the font is now available system-wide.
What kind of work does Marlin Font Family suit?
It sits in the Serif Fonts group and reads as branding, condensed, display, food. That makes it a candidate wherever those qualities help: headings, packaging, social graphics and brand work. Set it at the size you plan to use before deciding.
