Courier New OS is a classic typewriter font with equal spacing. Moreover, each letter takes up the same width on the page. Howard “Bud” Kettler made the first Courier font in 1955 for IBM. Additionally, Monotype later updated it as Courier New for computers. The font looks like text from an old typewriter. Therefore, it gives your work a clean and classic style.

This font is perfect for writing code and movie scripts. Furthermore, it works great for technical papers and data tables. The equal spacing keeps everything lined up in neat rows. Consequently, coders and writers use it every day. As a result, your text looks neat and easy to read.

Where Courier New OS Font works best

Long reads that need authority

Reports, white papers and book interiors hold the eye longer when the text face has real serifs; Courier New OS Font keeps that rhythm without looking old-fashioned.

Packaging with a heritage story

Food, spirits and cosmetics brands lean on serif wordmarks to suggest age and care. Courier New OS Font gives that signal at wordmark size.

Certificates and formal documents

Set Courier New OS Font for the body of an award or a diploma and keep the recipient name in a script; the pairing is what makes a document feel official.

Is Courier New OS Font really free?

The download costs nothing and needs no account. What you may do with the font afterwards is set by its author: the license file travels inside the archive, and it is the only document that decides whether a commercial project is covered.
